There are a number of ways you can cleanse crystals when you first acquire them, before and after a healing session or if you are using a crystal for it's healing properties or for protection.
Wash crystals under a running tap of cold water. Leave any crystals to dry naturally or use a soft cloth kept only for your crystal.
Lay crystals beside an Amethyst geode or unpolished Amethyst. The cleansing will take 24 hours.
Bury crystals in soil for 24 hours. Choose a deep indoor or outdoor pot with a growing plant such as lavender, rose, rosemary or sage herbs. This works best for unpolished natural stones. For delicate crystals, lay on top of the soil.
Circle a smouldering sage brush or cedar smudge stick, or a lemon-grass, pine, juniper, frankincense, lavender or rose incense stick in an anti-clockwise spiral under crystals. Leave from dawn until noon.
Sunlight is the best cleanser for vibrant, richly coloured or sparkling crystals. Leave the crystals from dawn until noon.
Crystals that are transparent or soft shades (such as Rose Quartz and Amethyst) do better in moonlight. The night of a full moon is best for cleansing. Leave all your crystals if possible either outside or on an indoor ledge in moonlight every month on a full moon.
